Job Title: **Senior Waiter**

Starting Salary: **SAR 2,000 - SAR 2,500 (based on knowledge and skills) plus FREE shared room, transportation, and 1 duty meal**

Place of Work: **Umm Al Hamam, Riyadh**

Deployment / Start Date: **September / October 2026**

**Role Brief**: As a Senior Waiter, you will run your own section of the restaurant and help manage the wider floor.

You will guide and support junior waiters, handle important guests, and work closely with the Restaurant Manager.

This is a hands-on leadership role — you will be in the action every shift, not just giving instructions from the side.

1. Section Leadership

– Take full ownership of your section — from the moment guests sit down to when they leave.

– Make quick decisions during service: manage table timing, handle issues, and keep things running smoothly.

– Be a role model for junior staff in how you speak to guests, carry yourself, and handle pressure.

2. Guest Experience

– Build good relationships with regular guests — remember their preferences and make them feel valued.

– Solve guest problems quickly and with care.

Always follow up with your manager on how the issue was resolved.

– Encourage the whole team to go the extra mile for every guest, not just the VIPs.

3. Training & Supporting the Team

– Help new waiters learn the ropes — show them how to take orders, serve correctly, and handle guests well.

– Join pre-shift briefings and help share important updates with the team.

– Keep the team motivated and working well together, especially during busy service.

4. Menu & Drink Knowledge

– Know the entire food and drink menu in depth — ingredients, cooking styles, regional origins of Indian dishes, and flavour profiles.

– Confidently recommend dishes and drinks to guests based on their preferences.

– Keep up with menu changes and new specials, and pass this knowledge on to the team.

5. Upselling & Sales

– Naturally suggest extras — starters, desserts, upgrades — in a way that adds value for the guest, not pressure.

– Monitor how your section is performing: average spend per table, number of covers, and table turnaround speed.

– Help create simple upselling guides and service tips for the wider floor team before opening.

6. Floor Operations & Pre-Opening

– Work closely with the kitchen, host, and bar teams so that orders, allergies, and VIP requests are handled without any mistakes.

– Check that the floor is fully set up and ready before every service — no shortcuts.

– Take an active role in pre-opening tasks: training sessions, trial runs, and soft launch events.

7. Hygiene & Standards

– Make sure every team member follows hygiene and grooming standards — speak up immediately if something is wrong.

– Follow all Saudi health regulations, Halal guidelines, and allergen communication rules.

– Help review and improve how the floor operates — share practical ideas with management.

1. Work Experience

– At least 4 years of restaurant experience, with 1 to 2 years in a senior, team leader, or supervisor role.

– Proven ability to manage a section alone and support the manager during busy or VIP services.

– Experience in Indian or international cuisine is highly preferred.

A real passion for Indian food is a must.

– A food safety certificate at Level 2 or above is required.

Saudi-approved certification must be obtained if not already held.

– Any training in fine dining service, hospitality leadership, or advanced table service is a strong plus.

2.

& Personal Qualities

– Strong English communication skills.

Arabic is very useful; Hindi or Urdu is an advantage when working with kitchen teams.

– A natural leader — calm under pressure, respected by the team, and always focused on the guest.

– Confident with POS systems and reservation tools.

Understands how good service drives restaurant revenue.
