Vice President of Finance leads MAF Retail's finance function and sets strategic direction and annual objectives.
The role oversees development of the annual business plan and leads finance strategy to achieve business objectives.
Strategy and planning
- Participate with management in setting and reviewing strategy, strategic objectives, business plans, and budgets.
- Assess finance resources, technology, processes, and people to ensure the function can deliver the company's strategy.
- Lead financial planning and budgeting across the company in line with strategic objectives.
- Work with department heads to set objectives, business plans, and budgets; review budgets to balance departmental needs with the company's financial position.
Reporting and governance
- Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and yearly consolidated and individual-entity financial statements, including income, balance sheet, cash flow, and changes in owners' equity.
- Ensure financial accounting and reporting comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Provide input to corporate policies and procedures and monitor their implementation.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance.
- At least 10 years of finance experience, including managerial-level responsibilities.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the retail industry.
