UI/UX DESIGN MANAGER

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Own design vision, strategy, and quality across the SaaS portfolio.
• Lead and develop a 5–8 member team, including hiring, one-to-ones, performance reviews, career development, and team growth.
• Drive design across 7–8 concurrent products or projects and partner on roadmap, scope, and priorities.
• Represent Design at CEO and leadership level; own design systems, UI consistency, and cross-product experience.
• Review and guide work before release; contribute to strategic explorations, launches, and high-impact initiatives when needed.
• Build and scale the design function as the company grows.

Must-have experience

• 6+ years of UI/UX experience, including 3+ years in design management.
• Proven experience managing 5+ designers and working in an IT, SaaS, technology, or product company.
• Strong expertise across UI and UX, with design strategy experience across multiple products and capacity to manage 7–8 concurrent projects.
• Advanced Figma skills: Components, Variants, Auto Layout, Libraries, and Plugins.
• Hands-on use of AI design tools in real-world projects.
• Strong design systems, interaction design, and responsive design expertise.
• Strong UX skills in research, user flows, information architecture, and usability.
• Excellent communication with CEO, Product, and Engineering leadership.
• Mandatory senior-level portfolio showing personal design craft, team-led work, design strategy across products, and personal impact.

Preferred experience

• Experience building or scaling a design function.
• AI/ML or non-deterministic product design experience.
• Design Operations or Design Systems experience.
• Multi-brand or multi-product experience.
• Formal design education or equivalent professional depth.
