Role overview

Treasury responsibilities

• Lead the treasury portfolio, including debt exceeding £800 million and cash balances over £100 million.
• Develop the treasury function and manage short- and long-term cash flow, investments and borrowing strategies.
• Build relationships with brokers, advisers and financial institutions.
• Prepare, implement and monitor the Treasury Management Strategy and reports.
• Ensure compliance with the CIPFA Treasury Management Code and Prudential Code.
• Monitor performance, markets and risks; provide strategic insights for decision-making.
• Lead treasury accounting and reporting, including working papers and Statement of Accounts disclosures.
• Support audits, respond to audit enquiries and lead responses to consultations and regulatory developments.
• Guide and train colleagues, deputize for the Strategic Finance Manager, and maintain robust financial records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, financial analysis, technical accounting, capital accounting and year-end accounts closure.

Essential qualification

• Recognized CCAB or stock market qualification, such as CFA, Member of IIMR or Member of Securities Institute; studying toward a similar qualification or being qualified by experience is also accepted.
