Role Purpose
- Support people to remain in control of their lives, live at home with people they love, and remain as independent as possible.
- Use the Care Act and Care and Support statutory guidance to enable people to self-direct their support.
- Ensure the person's voice, wishes, and feelings are respected and central to supported decisions about eligible needs.
Candidate Requirements
- The opportunity is for three Newly Qualified Social Workers.
- Candidates should be committed to human rights-based social work practice.
- Candidates should understand the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
- An enhanced disclosure check with barred list will be undertaken.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment with support from an experienced colleague.
- Provide social work support for adults with disabilities in community and other settings.
- Provide assessment, support planning, and review services.
- Safeguard adults, assess and manage risk, and take professional responsibility for critical decisions.
- Operate within departmental policy, practice, and procedures.
