Service Manager for Joint Commissioning

Role overview

Hours and schedule

• The role is 18.5 hours per week, with some flexibility over when hours are worked.
• Working hours must include some time on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Workplace arrangements

• The team works from Britannia House on Tuesdays; the postholder is expected to work there on that day.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of quality, value-for-money, responsible, and efficient services within available resources.
• Partner with service users, carers, commissioners, providers, and stakeholders to plan services and strategy.
• Deliver intelligence- and evidence-based commissioning.
• Account for population needs and differing NHS and Local Authority priorities in service improvement.
• Manage budgets and use resources effectively.
• Support the care-provider market and wider community support.
• Analyse and present data to highlight issues and risks and support decisions.

About you

• Bring strong operational leadership skills and a clear understanding of commissioning.
• Have significant commissioning experience and knowledge of the commissioning cycle.
• Know relevant legislation, regulation, and safeguarding frameworks.
• Have experience leading and supporting staff, including performance management and professional development.
• Hold a Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or have equivalent experience.
• Show commitment to co-production, equality, diversity, and continuous improvement.
