Element is hiring a Test Technician for its operations team to perform routine and non-routine testing assignments and deliver timely, accurate results under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare material specimens and perform tests according to customer specifications.
- Work under a senior test technician or department manager when needed.
- Interact periodically with customers.
- Schedule internal calibration of equipment.
- Gather, record, analyze, and compile test data.
- Construct and maintain test fixtures and laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Follow established safety rules, code of conduct, company policies, and procedures.
Skills and qualifications
- Have working knowledge of laboratory safety and a basic understanding of testing concepts.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in a testing-related field.
- Possess computer skills.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred; college or vocational school coursework is welcomed.
- Basic algebra and geometry skills are a plus.
Physical demands
Physical force requirements are described as minimum to moderate.
Lift items under 50 pounds often and over 50 pounds occasionally.
Stand on feet for long periods.
