The Test Technician performs routine and non-routine testing assignments and ensures timely, accurate test results under direct supervision.
The role is part of the operations team and requires compliance with safety rules, the code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare material specimens and operate testing equipment, supporting supervisors and engineers.
- Perform tests as directed by customer specifications and interact periodically with customers.
- Work under the supervision of a senior test technician or department manager when required.
- Schedule internal equipment calibration and gather, record, analyze, and compile test data.
- Construct and maintain test fixtures and laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order.
Skills and qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a testing-related field and working knowledge of laboratory safety.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred; college or vocational coursework is welcomed.
- A basic understanding of testing concepts and computer skills is expected; basic algebra and geometry are a plus.
- Comfort working in summer heat and at heights, including on scaffolding, cradles, and scissor lifts.
Physical demands
The role requires standing for long periods and lifting under 50 pounds frequently and over 50 pounds occasionally.
