The Test Technician joins Element’s operations team and performs routine and non-routine testing assignments.
The role is responsible for timely, accurate test results and compliance with safety rules, the code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare material specimens for testing.
- Perform tests according to customer specifications.
- Work under the supervision of a senior test technician or department manager when required.
- Interact periodically with customers.
- Schedule internal calibration of equipment.
- Gather and record test data.
- Construct and maintain test fixtures and laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Analyze and compile data from completed tests.
Skills and qualifications
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred; college or vocational school coursework is welcomed.
- At least 2 years of experience in a testing-related field.
- Basic understanding of testing concepts and computer skills.
- Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry is a plus.
Physical demands
- Physical force requirements are described as minimum to moderate.
- Lifting under 50 pounds is often required, and lifting over 50 pounds is occasionally required.
- The role requires standing for long periods and periodically lifting 50 pounds or more.
