RFQ and tender management
- Handle steel-related RFQs, tenders, and bids received by email, phone, or text.
- Acknowledge approved RFQs on the same day or send regret communications as instructed.
- Escalate when a quotation cannot be submitted within 24–48 hours and discuss solutions with management.
Sourcing and supplier management
- Source steel products from manufacturers and suppliers based on inquiry material take-offs.
- Issue approved supplier inquiries, follow up promptly, and use historical pricing data.
- Conduct initial supplier price negotiations and document bid analyses for each order.
Estimation and proposals
- Prepare estimation proposals within 24 hours using historical data, supplier quotes, market benchmarks, and customer feedback.
- Prepare bids and draft offers for management approval.
- Set pricing based on client targets, supplier negotiations, project cost deductibles, and required profit margins.
Bid follow-up and order closure
- Complete two-level follow-up on bid outcomes on the same day and 24 hours after an offer.
- Provide approved discounts, extend offer validity, and ensure accurate steel pricing.
- Obtain client target prices and assess order acceptance case by case.
Vendor onboarding and business development
- Submit vendor registration and prequalification documents to onboard the business to end-user and EPC approved vendor lists.
- Target at least four vendor registration or prequalification submissions per month.
- Identify new business leads and growth opportunities and meet prospective clients alongside the Managing Director.
Team supervision
- Delegate sales and administrative tasks to junior staff and sales coordinators as needed.
- Direct, monitor, and approve direct reports' daily work and project-related activities.
- Oversee junior staff attendance, leave applications, work coverage, and workplace ethics.
Role capabilities
- Steel sourcing, RFQ and tender handling, supplier follow-up, and price negotiation are central to the role.
- The position requires cost estimation, proposal preparation, market benchmarking, and margin-aware pricing.
- Business development, client engagement, vendor prequalification, and supervision of junior staff are included in the role.
Pay
- Pay is AED 2,700–7,500 per month.
