The Technical Office & Estimation Engineer supports project studies, price analysis, contract reviews, procurement, and scopes of work.
The role is described as being with a leading construction company in Saudi Arabia and involving MEP works.
Responsibilities
- Estimate MEP works including HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, drainage, and mechanical equipment.
- Study drawings and specifications, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare and review BOQs.
- Prepare cost breakdowns, analyze item prices, and compare supplier and subcontractor bids.
- Issue and review RFQs, technical and commercial comparisons, and subcontractor quotations.
- Review scopes, specifications, and IFC or tender drawings to identify discrepancies and changes.
- Evaluate subcontractors and suppliers and support contract management and procurement.
- Review change orders and claims and provide technical and commercial support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 7 years of construction and contracting experience.
- Strong technical-office and estimation experience for MEP works in construction projects.
- Experience with residential, commercial, administrative, or public projects.
- Proficiency in drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost analysis, Excel, and estimation software.
- Fluency in English for technical and commercial correspondence.
- Candidates must be located in Saudi Arabia and able to transfer sponsorship.
Preferred experience
- Experience with construction contracts, variation orders, claims, change orders, and subcontracts is preferred.
