About Frikwent

Frikwent is a Dubai-based holding and management company that creates, owns, manages, and grows businesses across different industries.

Current portfolio includes Yesterday Listening Pizzeria, a food and beverage concept, and Studio Formn, a creative studio specializing in branding, design, interior design, architecture, and art direction.

Role Purpose

The Group Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial control, reporting, and accounts payable and receivable functions across the holding company and its subsidiaries.

The role requires working independently, managing multiple entities, maintaining financial discipline, and implementing standardized financial procedures.

The candidate must handle routine accounting tasks and broader financial responsibilities including budgeting, cost control, cash-flow monitoring, month-end closing, tax compliance coordination, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounting cycle, general ledgers, journals, chart of accounts, and supporting documentation for each legal entity.
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Perform monthly bank, cash, credit card, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Manage supplier accounts, invoices, statements, credit notes, and payment schedules, verifying invoices against purchase orders and contracts.
  • Manage customer accounts, issue invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and reconcile revenue from POS systems, delivery platforms, payment gateways, and bank settlements.
  • Prepare rolling cash-flow forecasts and weekly payment schedules and cash-position reports for management approval.
  • Prepare monthly P&L statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and consolidated group management reports.
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations, coordinate VAT return preparation and filing, and support corporate tax calculations and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly payroll calculations, reconcile payroll against employment records, and coordinate salary payments in line with UAE labor and Wage Protection System requirements.
  • Establish standardized accounting procedures, maintain audit trails, and support implementation of accounting software, POS integrations, and financial reporting tools.
  • Establish accounting records, cost centers, budgets, supplier accounts, and reporting structures for new subsidiaries and projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to multiple entities, SMEs, hospitality, retail, or professional services.
  • Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end closing, and management reporting.
  • Good working knowledge of UAE VAT and UAE Corporate Tax requirements.
  • Experience coordinating payroll and maintaining audit-ready records.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, Tally, or equivalent systems.
  • Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, formulas, pivot tables, and financial reporting.
  • Experience handling restaurant POS reconciliations, inventory accounting, or multi-company accounting is an advantage.
  • ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualifications are an advantage.

Required Skills & Personal Attributes

  • High integrity, honesty, and professional confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple companies, priorities, and deadlines independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how financial performance affects business operations.
  • Confidence in communicating with management, suppliers, clients, employees, banks, and external advisers.
  • A proactive mindset to identify discrepancies and resolve problems rather than simply record transactions.
  • Willingness to build and improve financial systems as Frikwent expands.
