Storekeeper - Construction / Main Contracting

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily store operations at construction sites and ensure proper storage and handling of materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
• Issue construction materials, tools, and equipment to site teams based on approved material requisitions.
• Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards, inventory registers, and material issue/receipt documentation.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
• Track material consumption, wastage, damaged items, and returned materials.
• Ensure proper storage, identification, labeling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Maintain records of material transfers between sites, returns to suppliers, and unused materials.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Accounts teams regarding material requirements and stock availability.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety standards, and compliance with site store procedures.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports and submit them to management.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience as a Storekeeper in the construction or main contracting industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, building materials, tools, equipment, and site consumables.
• Proven experience handling stores at construction sites and managing high-volume material movements.
• Good understanding of material requisitions, delivery notes, purchase orders, GRNs, stock registers, and inventory control procedures.
• Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems is preferred.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and store documentation.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently at construction sites and coordinate effectively with site and procurement teams.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Must be available to work at construction sites in Dubai, as required.
