Technical Manager - Landscape

Role overview

Technical project delivery

• Plan and deliver technical work for softscape, hardscape, irrigation, pools, and water-feature projects.
• Develop and implement design strategies with stakeholders, consultants, clients, and project teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, design documents, and deliverables for contract and project compliance.
• Provide technical direction consistent with construction standards, buildability requirements, contractual specifications, and regulations.
• Coordinate landscape, irrigation, pool, and water-feature designs for feasibility and constructability.

Coordination and project controls

• Attend site meetings and, when required, lead design and technical coordination meetings.
• Track scope changes, assess technical implications, and follow change-control procedures.
• Manage the CAD and technical engineering team, including timely preparation, review, and submission of drawings.
• Set and monitor drawing schedules, submissions, and technical deliverables against project timelines.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and departments to resolve technical issues and design discrepancies.
• Review design modifications, materials, and technical submittals; support site teams and resolve execution challenges.
• Ensure technical documentation and drawings are reviewed, updated, and maintained.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant technical management experience; landscaping and construction company experience is preferred.
• Strong landscape construction experience covering softscape, hardscape, and irrigation systems.
• Proven technical knowledge of swimming pool construction and water-feature projects.
• Experience in design coordination, technical reviews, drawing management, and engineering deliverables.

Technical and leadership skills

• Strong knowledge of construction standards, contractual specifications, buildability requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing CAD teams and coordinating with consultants, clients, and execution teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM tools, and MS Office.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
