Technical Manager

Role objective

Design management and value engineering

• Convert consultant design drawings into workable contractor shop drawings.
• Lead value engineering workshops to identify cost-saving structural or MEP alternatives without compromising building performance or safety.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP designs within a BIM Level 3 environment.

Authority liaison and permitting

• Manage submissions and approvals with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, DEWA, and RTA.
• Ensure technical specifications address Dubai Green Building Regulations and applicable Al Sa'fat ratings.
• Secure NOCs for specialized high-rise elements such as BMU systems and helipads.

Engineering solutions and handover

• Resolve high-rise challenges including wind loading, verticality control, and façade thermal expansion.
• Oversee material technical data sheet approvals and verify materials meet durability requirements.
• Lead implementation of the Dubai Unified Building Platform and manage data flow between design and site teams.
• Ensure accurate as-built documentation for digital twin handover to the future facilities management team.

Candidate requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• 12–15 years in a technical management role and 8 or more years in Dubai.
• Experience leading technical teams for G+50 towers and managing the technical design of a G+50 tower from start to handover.
• Expert understanding of Dubai Municipality and Dubai Civil Defence approval processes; thorough knowledge of the Dubai Building Code and IBC, BS, or Eurocodes.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360; familiarity with ETABS, SAFE, or SAP2000.
• Exceptional technical writing, analytical problem-solving, and ability to influence design decisions.

Location and work arrangement

• Full-time, in-person role in Dubai, UAE.
