Structural Engineer

Role and project

Key responsibilities

• Review structural design drawings, specifications, calculations, and shop drawings for high-rise building projects.
• Coordinate with structural consultants, architects, MEP teams, subcontractors, and site construction teams.
• Review and resolve structural technical issues, design discrepancies, and site-related engineering problems.
• Prepare and review structural RFIs, technical submissions, method statements, and material submittals.
• Review reinforced concrete, post-tensioning, steel structure, and foundation-related structural details.
• Support construction teams in resolving structural issues during execution.
• Coordinate design changes and ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable authority requirements.
• Assist the Technical Manager with structural engineering reviews and technical coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, including substantial UAE high-rise building project experience.
• Strong experience in high-rise residential or commercial building construction.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, post-tensioned slabs, foundations, and structural construction methods.
• Able to independently review structural drawings, calculations, and shop drawings.
• Familiarity with international structural codes and Dubai authority requirements.
• Strong technical coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience with a reputable main contractor is strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD and structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, or equivalent are preferred.
• Experience on projects of 30 or more storeys and with major UAE main contractors is preferred.
• Experience in structural design coordination and resolving complex site structural issues is preferred.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality structural approval procedures is preferred.
• Immediate or short-notice availability is an advantage.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
