Technical Designer

Role overview

Design development and documentation

• Work with designers and the CAD team to develop and review design documentation and resolve observed problems.
• Quality-check design drawings, shop drawings, and specifications against company standards and construction needs; recommend suitable details and methods.
• Oversee drawings, designs, plans, models, and schemes using CAD software or red-line markups; maintain drawing quality and identify corrections.
• Prepare drawing checklists and update the PQP with the Quality Administrator; administer applicable SOPs and checklists.
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO requirements and local building regulations.

Coordination and project delivery

• Coordinate design execution during construction and provide assigned on-site post-contract services to help ensure designs meet required standards.
• Survey buildings and attend sites as needed to capture existing conditions and prepare detailed solutions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineering and design professionals, manufacturers, and contractors to resolve project details.
• Supervise assigned development, documentation, and site work; keep up to date with design-industry developments and uphold company service standards.

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position and a bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong administrative, record-keeping, monthly reporting, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Experience in the site construction phase and ability to advise on technical solutions during coordination.
• Passion for the design industry, motivation, and a team-player attitude.
