Role overview

Technical leadership and project delivery

• Establish technical benchmarks that keep design outputs compliant and buildable.
• Lead design, production, and room-rollout workflows and coordinate design with specifications and subconsultants.
• Own technical integrity from concept through construction, validating feasibility and constructability and reducing technical risk.
• Work with designers, architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical and construction challenges.
• Govern documentation standards and ensure coordinated, high-quality deliverables meet client expectations and design intent.

Quality and capability development

• Review drawings, models, and documentation for quality and compliance with operator guidelines, building regulations, and company standards.
• Implement lifecycle quality assurance and track PQP compliance and QC/QA processes.
• Build and upskill technical teams through training frameworks, workshops, mentoring, development plans, and knowledge transfer.
• Support recruitment and evaluation of technical talent, monitor KPIs, and identify future leaders for succession planning.

Department establishment

• Establish an independent Technical Department, separate from Design, by Q3/Q4 2026.
• Define department vision, structure, workflows, and governance across offices; centralize and resource technical delivery.
• Oversee coordinated final design packages with CAD and BIM teams and develop resourcing strategies aligned with project demand and business growth.
• Set technical standards for documentation, constructability, and quality control across the practice.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 10 years of relevant technical experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership or management.
• Proven ability to lead technical strategy and delivery across teams and projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate technical issues into business decisions.
• Strong understanding of compliance, quality standards, and governance relevant to the role.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong analytical, problem-solving, administrative, organizational, and time-management skills.

Technical and leadership competencies

• Expertise in technical design, solutions, and implementation oversight.
• Ability to establish technical standards, policies, and organizational best practices.
• People leadership, mentoring, performance management, and team development.
• Working knowledge of construction programming and scheduling tools, including Primavera, Aconex, BIM 360, or Sage.
