Senior Technical Designer

Role overview

Design development and documentation

• Lead and work with designers and the CAD team to develop design intent into detailed drawings and documentation; identify problems and recommend solutions.
• Review operator brand standards, local authority guidelines, drawings, shop drawings, and specifications for quality, company standards, and clear construction intent.
• Recommend construction details and methods, ensure packages are complete, and maintain drawing, detail, and documentation quality.
• Oversee drawings, plans, models, and schemes using CAD software or red-line markups; identify corrections and maintain project checklists and PQP updates.
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO requirements, local building regulations, operator manuals, and applicable design standards.

Coordination and project delivery

• Coordinate design execution during construction; review shop drawings and material samples and conduct site quality reviews, inspections, approvals, and snagging reports.
• Survey buildings and attend sites as needed to capture existing conditions and prepare detailed solutions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineering and design professionals, manufacturers, contractors, and specialist teams, including kitchen, spa, signage, and lighting specialists.
• Coordinate with the FF&E design team to ensure CAD blocks match selected items.
• Oversee assigned development, documentation, and on-site post-contract services; meet quality and delivery deadlines and uphold company service standards.

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position and a bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong administration, record keeping, monthly reporting, time management, and organizational skills.
• Experience in the site construction phase and ability to advise on technical solutions during coordination.
• Passion for design, motivation, and a team-player attitude.
