Tableau Developer role for a one-year extendable contract in Dubai, onsite.
The role works with the Data Engineering team on Tableau dashboards, BI, and data analytics.
Experience and technical qualifications
- Minimum 5–8 years of overall experience in Tableau platform development, BI, and data analytics.
- Experience designing, developing, unit testing, and maintaining complex Tableau dashboards.
- Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server; version 2023.1 is preferred.
- Ability to query, analyze, and visualize large datasets while optimizing workbook performance.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
- Strong proficiency in advanced SQL and handling large volumes of data.
- Good understanding of advanced calculations, statistical functions, and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modelling, and database normalization.
- Working knowledge of Tableau administration and architecture.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data quality.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards as part of the Data Engineering team.
- Perform analytics and generate business insights using Tableau and advanced SQL queries.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions.
- Gather requirements with stakeholders and Product Owners and propose technical designs.
- Provide effort estimates, prepare delivery plans, and track activities through closure.
- Follow best practices for dashboard design, development, and performance optimization.
- Develop and execute test cases for dashboard accuracy, data integrity, and quality before release.
- Validate dashboards with stakeholders and incorporate feedback through iterative reviews.
