Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead technical work across enterprise sales cycles, from initial RFIs through RFPs and RFQs when required.
• Manage projects and participate in proofs of concept with internal teams, customers, and commercial partners.
• Understand customer requirements and develop competitive solutions.
• Act as primary technical contact for customers and partners alongside the sales representative.
• Build knowledge of Fortinet products, solutions, competitors, and evolving security threats.
• Position solutions through presentations, whiteboarding, technical papers, plans, and customer discussions, remotely or in person.
• Manage concurrent deals and maintain a positive customer experience.
• Keep customer, prospect, activity, and account technical details accurate in Salesforce CRM.

Candidate requirements

• Presales engineer experience managing technical deal work through technical closure.
• Aptitude for security technology, especially encryption and authentication.
• Knowledge of RADIUS, PKI, IKE, certificates, L2TP, IPsec, firewalls, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, and 3DES.
• Problem-solving ability and evidence of contributing to key wins.
• Ability to build customer relationships and communicate technical information to varied stakeholders.
• Knowledge of network security, intrusion detection, antivirus, routing, switching, LAN, or WAN is desirable.
• CISSP accreditation is beneficial.
