Role overview

Sales-cycle and customer support

• Lead technical work through enterprise sales cycles, from initial RFIs through RFPs and RFQs when needed.
• Manage and participate in proofs of concept with internal teams, customers, and commercial partners.
• Analyze customer requirements and develop solutions that outperform competing offers.
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers and partners alongside the sales representative.
• Position Fortinet solutions through whiteboarding, technical papers, plans, and customer discussions, remotely or in person.
• Manage multiple deals while maintaining a positive customer experience.

Product knowledge and records

• Develop knowledge of Fortinet products and solutions, competitors, and evolving security threats.
• Maintain customer and prospect activity, contact, and account technical information in Salesforce CRM.

Required qualifications

• Current or previous pre-sales engineer experience managing deal technical work through technical closure.
• High aptitude for security technology, particularly encryption and authentication.
• Strong understanding of RADIUS, PKI, IKE, certificates, L2TP, IPsec, firewalls, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, and 3DES.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and impact on key wins.
• Ability to build customer relationships and communicate technical information to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred knowledge and certification

• Network security, intrusion detection, antivirus, routing, switching, LAN, and WAN knowledge are desirable.
• CISSP accreditation would be beneficial.
