Supply Chain Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and commercial terms.
• Maintain supplier records and monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality, and compliance.
• Coordinate procurement to ensure timely availability of products and materials.
• Monitor supply chain risks, costs, and logistics performance; support alternative sourcing strategies.
• Evaluate existing products based on performance, pricing, customer feedback, and market requirements.
• Research market trends and competitor offerings to identify products and business opportunities.
• Support development, evaluation, and introduction of products with engineering and sales teams.
• Provide product information and technical support to sales and internal teams; identify product improvements.
• Coordinate with Finance, Engineering, Projects, Sales, and Marketing on supplier terms, requirements, costing, and market positioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, product development, or a related role; supply chain management experience is stated as required.
• Knowledge of supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and supply chain operations.
• Understanding of product development, product lifecycle, market research, and competitor analysis.
• Analytical and commercial skills to evaluate costs, specifications, and product opportunities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office; SAP or Oracle experience is an advantage.
• Communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally for supplier visits, product evaluations, and business needs.
• Knowledge of ISO, RoHS, or CE product compliance standards is an advantage.
