Position details

Banquet operations and guest service

• Promote consistent teamwork and check staff appearance and attire, correcting lapses.
• Communicate with guests, employees, and departments to address guest needs and concerns.
• Try to accommodate special banquet preparations.
• Set up banquet rooms and maintain clean, well-arranged furniture and equipment.
• Maintain clean, elegant table settings in line with group and company standards and resolve setup issues.
• Document relevant information in the department log.

Team and workplace responsibilities

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, discipline, and motivating employees.
• Build constructive professional relationships with peers and support shared goals.
• Follow safety and security policies; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company property, and meet quality standards.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; assist with objects over 75 pounds.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or a full shift; use stairs and ramps and move over sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Read information in different formats and handle objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination; reach, bend, twist, pull, and crouch.
• Greet and acknowledge guests, communicate clearly and professionally, use appropriate phone etiquette, and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Perform other appropriate duties assigned by managers.

Recommended qualifications

• At least one year of related work experience is recommended.
• At least one year of supervisory experience is recommended.
• A secondary-school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
• No license or certification is specified.
