Structural Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structures for residential, commercial, industrial, and other building projects.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, calculations, design reports, and technical documents.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.
• Manage authority submissions, comments, revisions, and approvals.
• Review junior engineers’ work and provide technical guidance.
• Conduct site visits and inspections when required; attend meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Resolve technical issues, monitor deliverables and quality, and support existing-building assessments and modifications.
• Ensure submissions meet authority requirements and project deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant structural design experience; UAE experience is preferred.
• Strong building structural analysis and design experience, including reinforced concrete and steel.
• Valid Dubai Municipality Structural Engineer accreditation and valid Trakhees Gray Card are required.
• Knowledge of UAE Building Code, Dubai Municipality requirements, and ACI, BS/EN, ASCE, or other applicable standards.
• Proficiency in structural software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
• Experience with calculations, authority drawings, comments, resubmissions, and technical coordination.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage structural design packages and deliverables independently.
• Arabic and English verbal and written communication skills are required.
• UAE consultancy or engineering experience is highly preferred; UAE driving license is an advantage and immediate availability is preferred.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 6,500–14,000 per month.
