Experienced Structural Design Engineer for building projects in the UAE and Middle East.
Work includes concept through detailed design, modelling and analysis, coordination, authority approvals, and construction support.
Responsibilities
- Prepare structural concept, preliminary, detailed, and working designs and drawings for buildings.
- Apply relevant UAE/local regulations, Eurocodes, US standards where applicable, and green building standards.
- Perform structural modelling, analysis, calculations, design checks, and optimization.
- Develop and review solutions for steel, reinforced concrete, and other building structural systems.
- Coordinate with architecture, MEP, and other disciplines to resolve interfaces and clashes.
- Coordinate authority and third-party reviews, including Dubai Municipality and DDA.
- Assist with drawing submissions, approvals, and responses to technical review comments.
- Provide construction-phase support and solutions to site structural issues and technical queries.
- Maintain engineering quality, safety, accuracy, and technical compliance.
Education and experience
- University Bachelor's Degree in a relevant structural or civil engineering discipline.
- At least five years of structural design experience in the UAE or Middle East building/construction sector.
- Strong building structural design and engineering experience.
Technical skills
- Knowledge of structural design principles, steel and reinforced concrete, modelling, analysis, calculations, and optimization.
- Understanding of UAE regulations, authority approvals, relevant Eurocodes and US standards, and green building standards.
- Relevant software includes ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
- Proficient English for technical and business communication; strong multidisciplinary coordination and attention to safety and accuracy.
Preferred background and credentials
- Experience with Chinese construction/engineering companies or established local/international consultancies is preferred.
- Local Dubai structural design management experience is preferred.
- UAE Society of Engineers registration/SOE Card is listed among professional credentials; Municipality and Free Zone registration/licenses are preferred.
- Candidates based in the UAE, holding a valid UAE residence visa, or available to join soon are preferred.
Compensation and benefits
- AED 15,000–30,000 monthly salary before tax.
