Role overview

Store leadership and service

• Learn to recruit, hire, develop, evaluate, discipline, and retain effective team members.
• Deliver customer service through GURA: greet customers, uncover needs and wants, recommend product solutions, and ask to add value and appreciate the customer.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive store environment for team members, customers, suppliers, and communities.
• Plan and schedule daily team activities and communicate company processes, policies, and directives.
• Learn to resolve problems and conflicts involving team members and customers.
• Learn to manage sales and profit and promote a safe, productive work environment.

Merchandise and store operations

• Manage daily merchandise flow, in-stock levels, and inventory controls.
• Learn to organize merchandise resets and maintain presentation to company standards.
• Evaluate the competitive environment and work with Operations and Merchandising teams on quality and performance.
• Train on price changes and coordinate inventory needs and issues with buyers, supply chain, district managers, and distribution centers.
• Learn to coordinate sales events, support district operations, and participate in community involvement.

Administration and team relations

• Train on processing invoices, schedules, orders, returns, and reports, and on sales forecasting, payroll analysis, and budget review.
• Train on documenting team-member evaluations and corrective actions.
• Learn to address team-member concerns with HR when necessary and assess team members for advancement.
• Train on budgeting, sales forecasting, and auditing store processes.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license if driving for company business.
• Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• High school diploma; a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science or a business-related field is preferred. Suitable combinations of education and experience are considered.

Preferred knowledge and abilities

• Ability to process information and merchandise through a system and POS register, and accurately read, write, count, and complete documentation.
• Ability to access all store areas and operate equipment needed to run a store.
