Sr. Systems Development Engineer, Test Automation, Sustaining Engineering

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead development test system validation, software/hardware integration testing, and architectures for manufacturing test lines.
• Analyze test data using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools; investigate yield issues in prototype and production builds.
• Coordinate system document releases through gate reviews and prepare status or build reports.
• Drive system test campaigns and develop test setups and supporting hardware for satellite bus subsystem validation.
• Analyze design tradeoffs across performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale; coordinate test requirements and specifications.
• Provide design-for-testability feedback and support hardware subsystem production and integration.
• Define test strategies and optimize manufacturing test processes, fixtures, equipment, software, and procedures.

Basic qualifications

• Experience leading design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Programming experience with at least one modern language, such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
• 3+ years designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems at scale and writing technical documents, project plans, and progress reports is preferred.
• Experience mentoring, leading, or managing more junior engineers is preferred.
• MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

Export control

• Candidates must meet U.S. export-control eligibility: U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation

• Base salary range is $151,200–$204,600 USD annually; total compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
