Sr. Specialist, Testing and Evaluation

Role and testing environment

Trial planning and risk

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to plan land and maritime tests and trials.
• Engage clients to understand risks, project objectives, and desired outcomes.
• Assist subject-matter experts with planning and deconfliction of complex tests.
• Ensure appropriate risk mitigations are applied to all tests.
• Assist with Notices to Mariners and Notice to Air Missions based on customer requirements.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to mitigate risks and comply with UAE safety standards.

Documentation and framework

• Document test procedures, results, observations, and recommendations accurately.
• Assist in developing and reviewing project documentation; research relevant field developments and participate in audits.
• Maintain a database of risk assessments.
• Develop the Xrange risk management framework.
• Manage Hot-Wash-Up and After-Action Reviews following tests.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an associated field.
• At least 5–7 years of defence experience; military background is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience from a Test, Training, and Evaluation range or similar.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience planning and coordinating land and/or maritime tests or trials.

Required knowledge and capabilities

• Knowledge of Weapon Danger Areas; understanding of safety principles, range management practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of data-capture techniques, instrumentation, and planning methodologies.
• Fluent written and verbal English.
• Excellent communication, client management, organizational, and managerial abilities focused on safety and compliance.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of the NOTAM system, military operations, unmanned systems, and land and maritime testing standards and protocols is preferred.
• Problem-solving skills are preferred.
