Sr. Specialist Accountant

Role purpose

Key responsibilities

• Execute general accounting activities, including journal postings, accruals, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
• Manage retail sales, cash, card, bank, and settlement reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate and compliant VAT, tax, and e-invoicing records; perform balance sheet reconciliations and manage outstanding items.
• Support month-end and year-end closing through accurate reconciliations and documentation.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and support lease accounting processes.
• Support internal, external, and statutory audits.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and compliance standards.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification is a plus.
• At least four years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
• Experience with retail sales, cash, card, bank, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of IFRS, VAT, tax, and local regulatory requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
