Amazon is seeking experienced Software Development Engineer III professionals to solve complex technical challenges and build scalable solutions.
Engineers will design highly available distributed systems and deliver products and services used by millions of customers.
The role is available across multiple Amazon businesses in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, and Chennai.
Role responsibilities
- Design and build highly scalable, reliable, and distributed software systems.
- Own end-to-end technical solutions from architecture and design through development, deployment, and operational excellence.
- Partner with senior, principal, and technical leaders on complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with product, business, engineering, and customer teams on innovative solutions.
- Drive technical excellence and contribute to long-term architectural vision.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions.
- Lead architectural discussions and influence technical strategy.
- Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
- Champion engineering best practices, quality, automation, and operational excellence.
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead.
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
