About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Answer technical queries and attend customer clarification meetings.
• Review service-centre and field-service inspection reports; recommend repairs, possible failure causes, and upgrades.
• Guide complex equipment strip-down, assembly, and setting with experts; assist with complex commissioning and troubleshooting instructions.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis by gathering customer data, reviewing site data and reports, and preparing detailed findings and recommendations.
• Assess equipment performance on site using vibration analysers, ultrasonic flow meters, or thermodynamic methods; analyse measurements and prepare reports.
• Liaise with Sulzer factories and international engineering teams to support customers, service centres, and failure analysis.
• Work with Sales, Tendering, and Engineering on executable repair and retrofit proposals.
• Oversee detailed engineering for service-centre modifications and upgrades, including drawings, bills of material, and specifications.
• Conduct or supervise component reverse engineering at service centres or customer sites using conventional measurement tools and 3D scanning.
• Support company growth initiatives and provide warranty technical support for rotating equipment installation, commissioning, operation, and repair.
• Support warranty investigations with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical reports with recommendations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 10+ years of rotating equipment industry experience.
• Experience with centrifugal pumps and turbomachinery in water, power, and oil and gas industries.
• Knowledge of industry processes, practices, and standards; proficiency in rotating equipment design and selection software.
• Design, drafting, and CAD skills (2D/3D); strong computer skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Frequent national and international customer-site travel required, estimated at 30%–40%; assignments may last one day to two weeks.
• Communication and influencing, customer relationship management, time management, adaptability, initiative, attention to detail, and technical and commercial acumen.
• Project management skills.
