Role overview

Seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to build and operate large-scale distributed systems.

The role also provides technical direction to a cross-functional engineering team while remaining hands-on with architecture, development, code quality, performance, and delivery.

Work with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps teams, and engineering teams on secure, scalable platforms for digital products and everyday banking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and operation of cloud-native backend platforms using Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, and microservices.
  • Design Kafka event-driven systems and optimize MongoDB data models, Redis use, and backend performance.
  • Develop frontend applications with ReactJS and use Angular where required.
  • Build secure APIs and highly available, resilient systems; improve scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Operate cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP, and use Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Set technical direction and engineering standards, review code, troubleshoot production issues, and guide technical delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams.

Core technical requirements

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js, with enterprise backend and asynchronous programming experience.
  • Strong microservices and distributed-systems experience, including scalable, highly available, resilient systems and event-driven architecture.
  • Hands-on Apache Kafka experience, including asynchronous processing, service integration, and high-volume workloads.
  • Strong MongoDB experience with data modeling, indexing, aggregation pipelines, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong Redis experience with caching, distributed locking, session management, and performance optimization.
  • Strong hands-on ReactJS experience; Angular experience is also relevant for full-stack delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Azure is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices.
