Role overview
Leads civil and structural engineering activities for Solar PV Power Plants, from pre-bid engineering through commissioning and operations and maintenance.
Leads design engineers and draughts persons to manage engineering deliverables within budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engineering drawings and documents in line with project schedules.
- Review design drawings and design and sizing calculations; obtain client approvals where required.
- Review vendor engineering deliverables and evaluate vendor submissions against client technical specifications.
- Plan man-hours, review bills of quantities, provide technical clarifications, and coordinate interdisciplinary checks.
- Support site execution teams, inspect vendor equipment, and clarify design and client requirements.
- Collect soil reports, boundary coordinates, topographic surveys, and other project inputs.
- Coordinate design specifications and approvals with operations; support electrical and instrumentation vendor drawing reviews.
- Deliver module mounting structure designs, general arrangement drawings, room drawings, and solar plant civil infrastructure designs and documents.
Qualifications and experience
- B.E. or B.Tech in Civil or Structural Engineering; the description also specifies graduation in Civil Engineering.
- 10–12 years of experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants or Power Distribution Projects.
Technical expertise
- Civil and structural design for control room buildings, transformer and outdoor equipment foundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads, drainage, outdoor steel structures, and related solar plant works.
- Review of vendor engineering documents and interpretation of contractual technical requirements.
- Coordination of BIM 3D model development and engineering activities across disciplines.
