Kitchen operations
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and other kitchen workers.
- Determine food presentation, create decorative displays, and ensure proper portions, arrangement, and garnishes.
- Monitor preparation quantities and tell service staff about specials and out-of-stock menu items.
- Prepare special meals or substitutions, assist kitchen staff, and provide needed items.
- Monitor kitchen and food supplies; maintain food-safety and product logs.
- Check food quality and notify the manager when products fail specifications.
Staff and workplace responsibilities
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Follow company, safety, security, and quality policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Complete safety training and certifications; maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company assets.
- Address guest service needs and communicate professionally while supporting positive team relationships.
Preferred qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
- 4 to 6 years of related work experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- No license or certification specified.
Physical demands
The role involves extended periods standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
