About the club
The Arts Club Dubai is a private members' club in DIFC, occupying four floors in ICD Brookfield Place.
It is the first international outpost of the private members' club established in Mayfair, London, in 1863.
Role overview
The Sommelier supports wine and sake service and member and guest satisfaction while upholding the Club's service standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist members and guests with wine or sake selections and serve according to standard operating procedures.
- Keep wine and sake lists up to date with correct vintages and prices.
- Ensure products are stored correctly in the cellar and on display and served at the correct temperature.
- Prepare mise-en-place and maintain stock levels before service.
- Monitor glassware condition and use equipment and resources responsibly to control costs.
- Use professional salesmanship and positive sales techniques.
Requirements
- At least two years' experience in the same or a similar role in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
- Internationally recognized professional certification.
- Excellent written and spoken English and ability to recommend food and wine or sake pairings.
- Strong organization, time management, flexibility, communication, and listening skills.
- Demonstrate integrity and confidentiality.
- Able to work long shifts and stand for extended periods.
