About The Arts Club Dubai
The Arts Club Dubai is a private members’ club in DIFC, located across four floors in ICD Brookfield Place.
It is the first international outpost of the private members’ club established in Mayfair, London, in 1863.
Role overview
The Head of Wine manages the wine and sake departments and their operation within the Club.
The role maintains service standards and procedures, improves guest satisfaction, and balances product quality with budget and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Lead wine and sake sales and revenue for the restaurant beverage operation and motivate the team.
- Source wine and sake, manage supplier relationships, negotiate prices and stock allocation.
- Forecast consumption and requirements; maintain inventory and manage beverage costs and gross-profit targets.
- Control orders, listings, par levels, corked wine, wastage and complimentary items.
- Review sales, stock rotation and profitability.
- Plan and update wine and sake menus and develop the beverage marketing strategy with other departments.
- Train colleagues in product knowledge, service and selling techniques.
Candidate requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in the same or a similar role in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
- Internationally recognized professional certification.
- Excellent written and spoken English and ability to recommend food and wine or sake pairings.
- Strong organizational, time-management, team-management, communication and listening skills.
- Integrity, confidentiality, self-motivation and flexibility; able to work long shifts and stand for extended periods.
