A snapshot of your day

The Software Engineering Intern works within Siemens Energy’s Gas Services Middle East EHS function.

The role turns real-world EHS problems into digital solutions, from AI-assisted prototypes and automations to structured data insights and field adoption.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Design, prototype, test, deploy, and support adoption of AI-powered and digital applications for EHS use cases using VS Code, GitHub Copilot, and Microsoft Copilot Studio.
  • Build generative AI capabilities including large language models, prompt engineering, and RAG into practical tools.
  • Prepare, clean, and integrate EHS data from multiple sources and develop data products, dashboards, and visualizations, including in Power BI.
  • Work with EHS specialists and business stakeholders to understand workflows and turn needs into working prototypes.
  • Support adoption through demonstrations, training, user guides, and technical documentation, and track usage and benefits.
  • Use version control, testing, and API/database integration practices to build maintainable solutions.

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Academic or internship experience in software development, data analytics, or AI/ML projects is desirable.
  • Programming ability in Python, JavaScript, or a similar language; familiarity building web applications and integrating REST APIs, JSON, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Practical exposure to generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, machine learning fundamentals, and RAG/embeddings retrieval through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, document work clearly, think analytically, and experiment and iterate.
