Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based services and APIs.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code and participate in requirements refinement with peers, QA, and Product.
• Join code reviews, perform end-to-end testing, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot issues with SRE and App Support.
• Identify technical debt and performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of commercial Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+ or 17+, Spring Boot, and RESTful API design.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle, and SQL; familiarity with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of unit, integration, contract, and regression testing; OOP, SOLID principles, and space and time complexity.
• Production experience with metrics for reliable observability.
• Experience with rules engines, expression languages, or workflow engines, and orchestration patterns such as Saga, Process Manager, or state machines.
• Exposure to microservices, Redis, Kafka, and secure coding and application security fundamentals.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills.

Good to have

• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry; experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ message queues.
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS, or Terraform, and experience in high-growth or startup environments.
• Exposure to cryptography, encryption and decryption, distributed-system patterns, reactive programming, Spring WebFlux, Project Reactor, or Java Virtual Threads.
• Understanding of encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and TLS/mTLS.
