Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end cloud-native microservices and use domain modeling to support business products.
- Design software that is understandable, testable, evolvable, scalable, and resilient.
- Develop secure code and investigate, fix, and prevent recurring issues.
- Deliver zero-downtime releases and optimize data access and system performance.
- Maintain reliable, operable systems and keep technologies and patterns current.
- Support products through their lifecycle, including production operations and incident management.
Required qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with applied experience.
- Recent hands-on professional experience as a back-end software engineer.
- Experience coding in a recent version of Java.
- Experience designing and implementing effective tests, including unit, component, integration, end-to-end, or performance tests.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and web technologies.
- Familiarity with relational data stores.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a highly regulated environment or industry.
- Knowledge of messaging frameworks; familiarity with cloud-native microservices architecture or AWS cloud technologies.
