Software Engineer II (Onsite)

Role overview

What you will do

• Design, implement, and evaluate software in C++, Python, and/or Ada within an Agile framework.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with engineers on military technology planning, design, and development.
• Work with cross-functional research teams to evaluate early software prototypes.
• Perform multiple tasks independently with mentor support.
• Implement requirements and detailed designs, develop software, and perform integration and verification according to software development processes.
• Complete work to program schedules and collaborate with teammates on decisions.

Required qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Requires in-depth experience in software architecture, design, and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada, or Python.
• Requires experience in an Agile environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with DOORS and Atlassian tools such as JIRA, JAMA, Bamboo, and Confluence is preferred.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills, and capability in a fast-paced, dynamic, creative environment, are preferred.
• Avionics, Ada software development, embedded software, Mil-Std-1553B or Ethernet (TCP/UDP) protocols, military radio or surveillance (IFF), Cost Account Management, CDU-7000 Flight2, and leadership experience are preferred.
