Software Engineer II role within JPMorganChase's CIB Payments organization.
The engineer will work in an agile team delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products.
The payments platform is deployed to private cloud using Kubernetes and is moving to AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot software components and applications.
- Write secure, high-quality code with limited guidance and consider upstream and downstream system effects.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and automation to improve delivery and productivity.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure application development.
- Use and critically validate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools.
- Learn and apply processes for developing secure and stable code and systems.
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability is required.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment is required.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle is required.
- Experience with modern programming languages and database querying languages is required.
- Knowledge of Kafka and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB is required.
- Collaboration with high-performing teams and individuals is required.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and output validation is required.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security is required.
- Proficiency in object-oriented concepts, design patterns, Java, and Spring is essential.
Additional skills
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security is listed.
- Emerging knowledge of a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile is required.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and building cloud-native applications is preferred.
- Understanding of payments systems and payment-processing cut-off times is desirable.
Technology environment
- The platform uses Kubernetes in a private cloud environment and is moving to AWS.
- The role uses enterprise-authorized AI coding assistants for development, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
