Software Engineer

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable applications across front end, back-end APIs, and data storage.
• Apply modern JavaScript frameworks, microservices, cloud platforms, and performance-optimized databases.
• Establish clean-code, testing, security, and CI/CD practices.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive software experiences.
• Build modular, reusable frameworks and patterns for multiple clients.
• Research and prototype complex features, real-time data integrations, and interactive UIs.
• Use AI coding tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while applying human judgment.
• Partner with product, UX/UI, and business stakeholders on end-to-end solutions.
• Document designs, share practices, and raise engineering quality.

Core expertise

• Expert proficiency in a modern front-end framework and a back-end environment; examples include React or React Native and Node.js/Express, Java Spring Boot, or Python.
• Significant hands-on experience architecting and deploying on a major cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, OCI, or Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, and Docker containerization.
• Hands-on expertise with relational and/or NoSQL databases; familiarity with serverless functions, application gateways, and networking.
• Track record of delivering applications from concept through production with focus on reliability and performance.

Problem-solving and communication

• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into defined, delivered technical solutions.
• Ability to explain complex architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Communicative team contributor who anticipates roadblocks and prioritizes team success.
• Bias for fast, self-directed learning and staying current with frameworks and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Terraform experience for Infrastructure-as-Code is a plus.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, or large-scale and streaming data is a nice-to-have.
• Practical experience building AI-powered features, including prompt design, tool use, function calling, and production evaluation, is a nice-to-have.
• Experience across multiple cloud platforms or contributing to reusable internal frameworks and libraries is a nice-to-have.
