Forward-Deployed Engineer

About the role

Client advisory and account growth

• Serve as the primary technical authority and advisor for an enterprise customer, translating technical capabilities into strategic client value.
• Identify account technical gaps and business opportunities; partner with presales on architectures, solution pitches, and platform expansion.

Prototyping and integration

• Scope, design, and build customer-specific demos, production-grade prototypes, and Proofs of Concept.
• Work with customer engineering, security, and infrastructure teams on deployment pipelines, integrations, and data flows, with emphasis on GCP.
• Debug deployment, infrastructure, integration, and performance issues to unblock customer engineering teams.

Product feedback and success measures

• Relay customer engineering requirements to Product and Core Engineering and advocate for features that support enterprise adoption.
• In the first 90 days, build technical trust, learn the customer's stack and architecture, and ship an initial production integration or PoC.
• Within six months, become the account's go-to technical expert, reduce time-to-value, and drive architectural alignment.
• Within one year, expand the customer's technical footprint through successful PoCs, system stability, and proactive feature delivery.

Technical qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, backend systems, cloud architecture, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong proficiency in a modern enterprise programming language, such as Python, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, Rust, or Golang.
• Deep experience with GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Ability to architect REST/gRPC APIs, microservices, enterprise security integrations such as SAML, OAuth, and VPCs, and data pipelines.

Client and advisory qualifications

• Ability to present architecture strategies to CTOs and VP-level stakeholders and work through technical designs with senior developers.
• High autonomy, ownership, grit, and ability to devise solutions independently.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and a record of building trust with client engineering teams.

Nice-to-have experience

• AI/ML infrastructure, distributed systems, high-throughput data processing, or cybersecurity experience is a plus.
• Forward deployment, technical pre-sales, or high-touch technical account management experience is a plus.
• Financial services, payments, or broader FinTech experience is a plus.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Huawei cloud platforms is a plus.
