Software engineer focused on resilience and high availability for critical digital payment platforms.
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum 5–8 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in resilience, high availability, distributed systems, or mission-critical platforms.
- Strong hands-on Java/J2EE and Spring Boot experience; strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
- Experience with resilience frameworks such as Resilience4j, Hystrix, or equivalent.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka, or AMQ; REST APIs and API gateways.
- Knowledge of Oracle Database PL/SQL and SQL performance tuning; Linux/Unix and scripting experience.
- Understanding of application monitoring and observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with high-availability banking or payment systems; strong problem-solving and production troubleshooting skills.
- AI-assisted coding tools and practices are listed as exposure.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement retry, circuit-breaker, failover, timeout, and graceful-degradation patterns.
- Improve system availability, recoverability, and fault tolerance across critical payment applications.
- Investigate production incidents and recurring failures, implementing permanent fixes.
- Apply resilience controls to APIs, messaging, databases, and external integrations.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, health checks, and automated recovery.
- Develop and execute resilience, failover, and disaster-recovery tests.
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, support, and vendor teams; support modernization.
- Conduct code reviews, follow secure-coding standards, and document designs and operating procedures.
