Job Summary
The L1 SOC Analyst monitors security alerts, identifies potential threats, and supports incident response through continuous monitoring and initial investigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor alerts using SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or IBM QRadar.
- Analyze and triage phishing, malware, and other suspected security incidents.
- Review logs from firewalls, endpoints, servers, and network devices.
- Escalate confirmed or suspected incidents to L2 analysts.
- Maintain incident records, investigation notes, and shift handover reports.
- Support compliance with security policies and SOC procedures.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in SOC operations or cybersecurity.
- Basic knowledge of SIEM, networking, security monitoring, and incident response.
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux logs, firewalls, EDR, and threat intelligence.
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or SC-200 certifications are advantageous.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night shifts if required.
