The Big Data Analytics Center (BIDAC) at UAEU seeks a software developer to support design, development, and deployment of AI-driven platforms and data applications.
The role works across AI, NLP, software engineering, and LLM innovation, collaborating with data scientists, researchers, and engineers.
The focus includes AI productization, system integration, and scalable, secure, user-friendly digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web and software applications for AI and data-driven projects.
- Build and integrate APIs for AI/ML model deployment, data pipelines, and backend services.
- Implement LLM-based systems, chatbots, and process automation tools with AI researchers.
- Develop front-end interfaces and dashboards using frameworks such as React or Dash.
- Implement secure data access layers in line with UAEU data governance policies.
- Contribute to MLOps and DevOps pipelines for production AI applications; write maintainable, documented code.
- Collaborate on cloud and on-premise deployment of solutions and support AI-powered educational, research, and administrative tools.
- Participate in technical documentation, testing, and version control using Git/GitHub.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django and front-end libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, JSON, and integration with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to performance and scalability.
Preferred qualifications and expected skills
- A master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or Software Engineering is preferred.
- LLM deployment, fine-tuning, or integration experience, including LangChain or RAG systems, is preferred.
- MLOps frameworks such as MLflow or DVC, AI application deployment, and AI dashboards or analytics platforms are preferred.
- Open-source contributions or experience in AI startup or research environments are preferred.
- Arabic NLP or bilingual English/Arabic AI application knowledge is a plus.
- Expected skills include AI/ML model integration and LLM APIs; Gradio or Flask-based AI interfaces; full-stack capability; cloud services, Kubernetes, data processing, API authentication, and secure data exchange.
