Key responsibilities

  • Own ECS control-plane or data-plane design, delivery, and operations, including areas such as scheduling, orchestration, runtime, networking integration, or deployments.
  • Own availability, latency, security, on-call health, COE reviews, and delivery of corrective fixes.
  • Set the roadmap from customer problem through launch and operations; write and review PRFAQs and design documents with product management.
  • Plan multi-quarter delivery, balancing features, technical debt, scale, and operational work.

  • Resolve cross-team technical and prioritization conflicts; engage customers and field teams on needs and escalations.

Basic qualifications

  • At least 8 years leading definition and development of multi-tier web services.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices across the software, hardware, and networks lifecycle, including coding, reviews, source control, builds, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership about requirements, features, designs, and strategy.
  • Recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineers.
  • Linux and networking protocols, or Kubernetes, Docker, or container ecosystem experience.
  • At least 3 years of virtualization, orchestration, or cloud computing experience, or a bachelor's degree in a listed quantitative or technical field or equivalent.
  • Production-services experience with Go, Rust, or C++.

Compensation

  • The stated base salary range is CAD 171,400–286,200 annually for Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • Total compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
