Role Overview
Build mission-critical backend systems for tax calculation, compliant invoicing, and advertiser promotions in Amazon's global advertising business.
The Tax & Promotions team supports tax compliance, regulatory invoicing, and promotion consumption for Sponsored Ads, DSP, and vendor billing worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services for advertising tax calculation, regulatory compliance, and invoicing across global jurisdictions.
- Build and maintain promotion engines for advertiser credits and incentive programs.
- Develop government e-invoicing integrations for worldwide marketplaces.
- Deliver end-to-end billing-stack features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Collaborate on scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with long-term architectural goals.
- Write well-tested code and participate in design and code reviews.
- Improve billing-service operations through monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Requires 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Requires programming experience in at least one software programming language.
- Requires 2+ years of system design or architecture experience involving design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Requires 1+ years designing and developing qualifying large-scale software applications, tools, systems, or services.
- Requires 1+ years of object-oriented design experience.
- Requires modern object-oriented programming experience, such as Java, C++, or C#.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience is preferred.
Compensation
- Base salary range is $158,100 to $213,800 USD annually.
- Compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
