Full Job Posting

Role overview

The team owns historical product price records used to validate deals and inform customers, sellers, vendors, and partner systems.

The role builds systems processing price and order data for millions of products across Amazon stores in more than a dozen countries.

The engineer will help combine historical price systems on a shared platform while existing systems remain in production.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate large-scale price and order data pipelines.
  • Develop data-quality checks and anomaly detection for accurate historical prices.
  • Migrate to a shared price-history platform through parallel runs, shadow testing, staged cutovers, and legacy component retirement.
  • Move batch processing toward event-driven designs where freshness matters.
  • Prepare for Prime Day, Black Friday, and other peak periods with capacity testing, monitoring, alarms, and on-call.
  • Build tools for sellers, vendors, and internal teams and define data contracts with partner engineering teams.
  • Write design documents, participate in design and code reviews, mentor newer engineers, and use AI-assisted tools for migration, testing, and validation.

Basic qualifications

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred qualifications

  • At least 3 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Team

The growing team is part of Amazon's worldwide pricing organization and is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The team values simple designs, precise data definitions, and engineers attentive to code and customer outcomes.

Compensation

  • Base salary in Vancouver is CAD 114,800 to CAD 191,800 annually.
  • Total compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
